The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for severe gales.
The forecast:
Dry at first this morning, with cloud thickening as rain arrives late morning and the southerly winds increase strong to gale force. The rain will clear to dry early in the afternoon, allowing sunshine to develop as the winds swing southwest and ease. Maximum temperature 10 Celsius.
Very windy over the weekend, with gales or severe gales for much of the time which may lead to some travel disruption. Heavy rain is likely later on Saturday, but Sunday will be dry and largely sunny.
