An appeal against the refusal of a plan for a care home at Spaldrick in Port Erin has been lodged.
The proposal (17/00947/B by Spaldrick Care Ltd) is for the demolition of the existing building and erection of a 72-bedroom residential care home with associated car parking, access, landscaping and highway alterations.
It provoked scores of objections from residents, who raised several issues and said it was ’gross over-development of the site’. The local authority agreed when it opposed the plan, which was refused by planners.
