Today’s 3pm Manannan Steam Packet sailing could be cancelled because of predicted stormy weather.

The company will announce its decision at 12.30pm.

The weather could also lead to coastal overtopping.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning.

The forecast:

Dry today, and although rather cloudy some bright or sunny intervals are likely. Windy with strong south or southwest winds, these possibly touching gale force in a few places and causing waves to break over exposed coastal areas at high tide, before later the winds gradually ease. Maximum temperature 16 Celsius.

Dry tonight as the winds ease further. Then tomorrow will be a fine and dry day with long sunny spells developing. The southeast winds will increase fresh to strong in places, but temperatures in sheltered spots will become warm, rising into the high teens.

Dry and bright at first on Thursday, then rain for a time later in the day.
