Businesses in the tourism sector have until July to tell the government how it can best support them.
The Visit Isle of Man - How Can We Help? survey is an initiative from the Department for Enterprise that gives businesses a chance to suggest what they would like to see offered in the future.
Angela Byrne, head of Visit Isle of Man, said: ’The survey hopes to open communications between the new Visit Isle of Man agency and local industry to establish needs of selected businesses or event organisers and areas which need more support as well as identify a training programme for the sector.
’In turn, this will benefit the quality and service provided for visitors on the island.’
Visit Isle of Man supports a range of tourism-related businesses including accommodation providers, activity providers, attraction owners, event organisers and eateries.
As well as supporting new businesses and product development, Visit Isle of Man provides training and development, networking events, and support for existing partners.
Last year’s survey results identified that the sector would like to receive monthly updates on events, touring groups and themed promotions. Visit Isle of Man has since released the Isle of Man event calendar and regularly requests submissions of seasonal special offers via the monthly trade e-newsletter.
When asking about training opportunities, social media marketing was the most popular course requested which resulted in a programme of beginners and advanced sessions planned during winter 2017.
The survey can be found at www.surveymonkey.com/r/P8KZRJS and it closes on Sunday, July 1.
