Syrian refugee Amineh Abou Kerech is visiting the island today.
After she and her family fled Syria, she won the Sir John Betjeman poetry prize, aged 13 years, for her lament for Syria.
Her poem has been put to music by Sir Karl Jenkins and is being performed in the Villa Marina on Sunday at 3pm by the newly formed Mannin Youth choir.
It forms part of a concert by the Isle of Man Choral Society.
Tickets will be available on the door and from the Villa/Gaiety website and the Welcome Centre at the Sea Terminal, Douglas.
Amineh will be talking with students at Queen Elizabeth II High School today about how she has used her poetry to deal with the trauma of leaving her home.
