There is now just over a month for Isle of Man taxpayers to submit their personal income tax returns before the Tuesday, October 6, 2026 deadline.

The Isle of Man Government is encouraging residents to use its online tax services, with 66.8% of taxpayers now submitting their annual returns electronically.

Online services allow taxpayers to submit and view returns, receive confirmation they have been filed, review assessments and balances, make payments and have any income tax refunds paid directly into a bank account.

Once registered, tax returns are partly populated with salary and state benefit information, meaning taxpayers do not need to enter those details manually.

Paper returns can be deposited in the letterboxes at the front entrance of Government Office on Bucks Road, Douglas, or on the second floor.

Anyone requiring a duplicate tax return should contact the Income Tax Division as soon as possible to ensure it can be issued and returned before the deadline.

A £100 penalty will be charged if a return has not been received by the Income Tax Division by that date.

If it remains outstanding by April 6, 2027, a further £200 penalty will be imposed.

Paying the penalties does not remove the requirement to submit a return, and taxpayers may face prosecution for failing to do so.

A government spokesperson said: ‘An animated instruction video has been produced to help people go through the process step-by-step, which is available to view on the Isle of Man Government YouTube channel.

‘Customers experiencing difficulties accessing or using their Online Services account are advised to contact the Income Tax Division by telephone or visit the public counter for assistance.’
