Tickets sold quickly at the Welcome Centre on Saturday when the box office opened for the upcoming Young Farmers’ concert.
Always one of the most popular shows of the year you don’t stand much of a chance of a ticket if you’re not prepared to queue and this year was no exception.
A spokesperson for the Welcome Centre told the Examiner yesterday: ’Some people were coming in on Saturday and saying they had been queuing from 5am when the Sea Terminal opens but others said they had been there since the night before.
’We have hardly any tickets left now.’
As the online sales got under way yesterday, secretary of the Young Farmers, Hayley Crowe, confirmed that they were now ’pretty much sold out.’
She went on: ’They have sold exceptionally well this year with people queuing from nine o’clock the night before which I think is probably a record.
’I popped down at 6am to talk to a few of them and there were probably 200 people in the queue at that point.
’We are really so grateful to all these people who go down and queue - it’s really quite humbling.’
