The first volume of a popular series of photography books is to be republished.

A second edition of ’Manx Tholtans Volume One’, a glossy, hard back book featuring the photographs of Ray Kelly, has been made available again via pre-order, following popular demand.

The 144-page book, which features extensive photo-studies of many of the atmospheric ruins that dot the Manx countryside, along with written historical accounts of the people who lived and worked in them, was originally released in 2016 and quickly sold out.

Ray followed this with volume two in 2017, and a final volume three in 2018.

All three volumes, including the new edition of ’Manx Tholtans Volume one’, will be available to pre-order through the local arts online market place Quirky.im

Ray is looking to secure orders of over 200 for the books before sending off to print.

He said he has been amazed by the response from readers since he published his books.

He has often been asked to reprint his first book and teamed up with Jane Hall, the owner of Quirky.im, to help with the reprint.

’We’ve had a fantastic response so far, ’ he said.

’However, for the numbers to work and for the re-print to be viable we’d really like to get to 200 copies before the end of April.

’That way I can put the order it with the printers and they will be ready in early July.’

To mark the re-release, Ray is also planning a guided talk later this year.

Those who have pre-ordered books will be invited to join Ray for a visit to some of the most picturesque Tholtans of Tholt-y-Wyll, with the chance to hear some of the fascinating history behind the ruins from Ray himself.

More details on both the books and the walk will be available from quirky.im
