A group of trombonists entertained shoppers as they completed the last of the Christmas errands with a busking session in the middle of Strand Street on Christmas Eve.

Featuring 14 musicians, the Isle of Man Trombone choir played for two hours, outside Marks and Spencer, on the junction of Strand Street and Regent Street, filling the town with music and atmosphere.

They entertained shoppers with a range of Christmas tunes and carols, as well as popular songs.

Leading the line of trombonists were youngsters Maeve Moirrey, nine, and Elizabeth Nelson, seven, who are both members of the ’Neptune Street Nippers’, the youth orchestra wing of the Ramsey Town Band.

The buskers were raising money for the Without Wings Manx Autoimmune Arthritis Trust.

Organiser Jacqueline Morrey-Grace said that £292 was raised for the charity, and that they wished everyone who donated their coins to the bucket a merry Christmas.
