A course map on the TT scoreboard at the start line on Glencrutchery Road has been stolen.
The Department for Enterprise Motorsport team said that the newer board featuring the map of the TT Course was stolen from the scoreboard at the weekend.
A spokesman said: ’The matter has been referred to the Isle of Man Constabulary who have confirmed that this is a criminal matter and that they are investigating the theft.
’The Isle of Man Constabulary is advising that the removal of any further items from the Scoreboard will also be treated as criminal activity.
’Some of the main parts of the TT Scoreboard will be protected and preserved by Manx National Heritage before going on display in the new TT Gallery in the Manx Museum which has been earmarked to open in 2022.
’Any items removed from the scoreboard will impact on the quality of that display and the public’s opportunity to view the scoreboard at the museum in future years.’
The stolen course map is a plastic one and its theft has revealed the older wooden map beneath.
The TT Motorsport team is requesting that whoever has removed the course map from the scoreboard return it to the team or Manx National Heritage or advise the Police where it can be found.
