Two Peel fishermen have appeared in court charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Liam Anthony Lewis, aged 20, of Carmane Close, and Anthony Kai Leonard, aged 18, of Kerroo Coar, will be committed to the Court of General Gaol Delivery on August 22 at 10am.

The incident is alleged to have occurred outside the House of Manannan in Peel on Saturday night.

A man suffered a broken nose and suspected fractured cheekbone and is still in hospital.

Bail applications for both men were denied by Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes and they were remanded in custody.
