The Ramsey branch of the Royal British Legion will be marking the anniversary of VJ Day in the town this weekend.

On Saturday, August 15, there will be a wreath laying at the town’s war memorial with a bugler in attendance from 11am.

The following day the branch is hosting a street party on Parliament Street, around the old courthouse, from 1pm onwards.

The event will include free children’s rides, sandwiches and drinks. In additions there will be various entertainment including a tribute to Forces’ sweetheart Vera Lynn.
