The Salvation Army has launched its annual Christmas toy appeal, which will run throughout the whole month of November.
All branches of the Isle of Man Bank are acting as collection points where members of the public can donate unwrapped toys and gifts that will be sorted through and delivered to families in time for Christmas. Last year the Salvation Army provided toys for 456 children.
Salvation Army captain Rachael Nieuwoudt said: ’We are always overwhelmed by the generosity of the general public.
’For many Christmas is a time of joy, celebration and happiness, however, unfortunately for some this time of year emphasises loneliness, adds to financial struggles and puts additional pressure on families who are already struggling to make ends meet.
’With the support of the public, we aim to ensure that all children wake up to presents under the tree on Christmas morning.
’We thank you in advance for your support and kindly ask that you also remember babies and teenagers as you choose your gifts to buy and donate this year.’
