Strong to gale force northwesterly wind and highs of 7°C.
The north-northwest wind will continue to increase to severe gale force this evening, giving gusts quite widely of 55-65 mph, but perhaps up to 75 mph in more exposed spots for a time, which is likely to cause travel disruption as well as some structural damage.
A cold night with minimum temperature generally around 2°C, but close to freezing over the hills.
