Thereafter a mostly dry weekend is in store, with some sunny intervals at times.
Still rather breezy on Saturday with strong westerlies, then easing winds on Sunday. Temperatures over the weekend will be close to average for mid-September, with maximum values about 17 Celsius.
Then early next week high pressure will build into southern parts of Britain, resulting in a quiet few days of weather for ourselves, with dry conditions prevailing as winds become light.
However, skies will probably tend to be mostly cloudy with any sunshine limited, although later in the week bright or sunny intervals may start to develop.
