Storm Ellen is expected to hit the Isle of Man tonight.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for gales.

The forecast:

Scattered showers becoming more widespread this evening and tonight, also turning heavy at times especially later in the night with a small risk of thunder.

The fresh to strong southerly winds will gradually increase again, becoming strong to gale force with gusts up to between 50 and 55 mph. Temperatures no lower than 13 Celsius.

Heavy rain at first tomorrow will soon clear in the morning to leave sunny spells and only isolated showers. Strong to gale force south to southwest winds will slowly decrease a little later in the morning, but still leading leading to further coastal overtopping around the time of high tide in the afternoon (1:47pm). Top temperature 19°C.

Sunny spells and occasional blustery showers for Saturday, with strong to west or southwest winds and a highest temperature of 18°C.
