Volunteer groups, charities and local businesses are once again making themselves available to offer extra assistance to the community during this lockdown.

As usual, charity Live at Home has a number for anyone who would like to talk or needs help with shopping at 0808 162 4604.

Age Concern can also be contacted on 631470 to arrange for help with technology or to sign up for their regular ’keep in touch’ call service.

www.helpout.im is a central website for community support and assistance across the island, and can be contacted on [email protected].

People who are isolating can make a request either here or on the Helpout.im Facebook page for help with the shopping, running an errand, walking their dog or if they would like to talk to someone.

Get Connected IOM is offered free technology assistance or tuition on mobile devices during the lockdown. The local business can be contacted on 321234.

Robinsons Fresh Foods is offering a homecare box scheme which is available for delivery to vulnerable categories, NHS and emergency workers. People can order online or call 690000.

The Living Hope Church has community support volunteers to help with shopping, posting mail, collecting prescriptions, and to arrange daily check-in or prayer calls.

Spar Anagh Coar [624848] and Spar Willaston [673866] are offering a free delivery service to those who are shielding or in self-isolation.

In Onchan, Corkills Garage, prioritising the vulnerable, will be delivering Monday to Saturday.

The garage will upload pictures of its stock on Facebook at regular intervals, and orders can be placed via private Facebook message [preferred], email at [email protected] or by phone on 675885.

The garage is also working with Karsons Pharmacy to deliver prescriptions and over the counter medication, and people can place orders to them for the garage to then pick up and pack together.

In Marown, Alison from the commissioners can be contacted on 495142 for assistance with shopping or anything else that needs picking up.

In Arbory and Rushen, the ’Arbory Connect’ community support initiative has been restarted.

The monitoring scheme will not be in place during this lockdown, but its volunteers can be contacted for help with shopping, collecting prescriptions or for a chat.

In Garff, the Laxey Lifeline can be contacted on 474747 to provide assistance such as calls to people in isolation, or to arrange for shopping on 861413 or [email protected].

In Ramsey, the rugby club once again has volunteers available to help people who are shielding or isolation with shopping or prescription collection.

The club can help with collecting and delivering Co-op and EVF garage click and collect orders.

They can also assist people in isolation with dog walking.

The club can be contacted on 473087 or 423991, or via their Facebook page ’Ramsey Rugby Club Doorstep Deliveries’.

S&S Motors garage is delivering to anyone in the south who is isolating. People can call 823698 [press option 1 or 2] to order between 9am and 12pm Monday to Friday, deliveries between 9am-12pm Monday-Friday, deliveries Tuesday-Saturday.

Port St Mary local volunteers can be contacted on 491468 for help with shopping, dog walking, collections from the pharmacy, advice on using technology, etc.

Charity Southern Befrienders are available to offer support to the elderly, as well as someone to chat with at 833025.

At Shoprites across the island there are dedicated shopping hours for senior citizens and vulnerable customers from 8-9am on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
