A young Peel barber is set to take centre stage at one of the UK’s biggest barbering events after securing a place in the New Blood competition at the Great British Barber Bash.
Christos Andrea, who works at Andrea Barbers on Bridge Street in Peel, has made it through to the competition, which will take place in Liverpool on Sunday, September 13.
The ‘New Blood’ finals will form part of the Liverpool Barber Bash, with the winners due to be announced at 6.15pm.
The achievement marks another milestone for Christos, who has been building his reputation in the barbering industry since joining the family business.
Although the shop was a new addition to Bridge Street, the Andrea family is already well known in the town through Demetri’s, the long-established hairdressers and barbers on Douglas Street.
At the time of opening, Christos said: ‘Demetri’s was always the roots for us, and we’re proud of that. But it’s nice to have our own spot now - our own place.’
Andrea Barbers has since established itself as a popular addition to Peel’s high street, and Christos’s success provides another reason for the family to celebrate.
In a post announcing his achievement, Andrea Barbers said it was ‘genuinely proud’ of how far Christos had come.

‘Anyone who knows Christos knows how much work he’s put into barbering,’ it said.
‘He’s worked seriously hard to get himself to this point, and now he gets the chance to step up and show what he can do on one of the biggest stages in UK barbering.’
The post praised his growing confidence, ability and passion, adding: ‘He’s earned this opportunity.’
The Great British Barber Bash brings together barbers, brands, educators, students and others from across the industry through live events, education and networking.
