The ACU Acklams British Youth Solo Trials Championship kicks off this weekend with a double-header promoted by Isle of Man Youth Trials Club.
The event takes place on the volcanic rocks at Scarlett, near Castletown on Saturday and King’s Forest, near Greeba Castle on Sunday.
Action gets underway from 10am both days with around 60 riders including the cream of UK talent.
Back with the other youth classes after a couple of years alongside the senior men’s championship, the A Class will showcase the elite level of youth riders with reigning B class champion Daniel Slack of Sheffield Hallamshire moving up on his MRS Sherco and challenging William Dalton, Joe Faunthorpe and Adam Harris for the win.
The local challenger here is Maxx Bradshaw.
In B Class it looks like Scorpa-mounted Reece Gazzard of Northern Ireland will be close to the top of the field, as will JST Gas Gas team-mates Jack Dance and Harry Turner, with similarly-mounted locals Owen Chestnut and Bobby Moyer taking up the challenge.
C Class could end up being a battle of the Hemingway brothers of Yorkshire - Harry and George - who are set to lead the way on their matching Beta 80s.
Leading local C Class riders in this class is Jack Asbridge-Heard and fellow local Corey Peters.
In the C Medium-wheel Class there is also some great talent with Scottish rider Euan Simm one to watch.
D Class is split into a medium wheel for Beta 80s or the larger electric bikes and includes another bunch of talented riders including local lad Stanley Cubbon who will be in with a shout.
In the D Small-wheel category, which is all electric bikes, there are quite a few locals riders entered with Jacob Wilson, Liam Barker and Evan Arnold leading the way.
Signing on is at 8.30am for 10am starts both days.
Observers may still be required. Get in touch with Mark Moyer on 452080 or message on Facebook if you can help.
