Isle of Man Archery Club has announced its selection squad that will partipate in this year’s NatWest Island Games in Gotland, Sweden.
The 2017 Games will take place between June 24-30.
The squad will consist of teams in each of the two disciplines together with a team manager, assistant team manager and a physiotherapist.
There will be a good range of archers including some newcomers to the Island Games, providing a mix of both youth and experience.
The recurve team includes Barbara Harris who was unable to compete in the last Games in Jersey but now has a chance to compete at international level.
She will be accompanied by Danny Cowin, Dave Berry and another newcomer to the Games, Josh Trafford, who has just moved up into the senior ranks.
The compound team is made up of experienced archers Joy Gough, Billy Lightfoot, Dave Moore and Ethan Moore together with Rhys Moore who changed disciplines in 2015 and is now one of the Isle of Man’s leading compound archers.
The teams will be under the experienced and watchful eye of Alison Cowin who was the archery team manager in both the Isle of Wight and Jersey Island Games. Alison will be aided by former Games competitor Peter Mumford who will act as assistant team manager and coach to the teams.
Natasha Richardson, who is a fully-qualified physiotherapist, has generously volunteered her time and services to accompany the team to Gotland in Sweden.
