As the mixed hockey season begins to draw to a close, the game of the day is between Castletown Celts and Bacchas B in the PwC Mixed Premier League this Saturday.
Bacchas have so far failed to score one point this season, but after running Celts close in the first fixture between the two, this will be a close game.
Another factor to take into account is that neither side has been able to beat the teams around them and this makes the game even more important for both.
If Celts win or draw then they are likely to survive; if Bacchas win then it will be a battle to the end of the season based on goal difference - currently there are only four goals between them.
Elsewhere in the Premier League, Bacchas A take on Valkyrs A with the former going into the game as favourites.
The final game of the day in the top flight is Ramsey A versus Vikings A. The northerners ran Vikings close last time out before losing 3-2, but Vikings will be looking for a much more controlled performance to take all the points on offer this time round.
With the Isle of Man under-18s teams away this weekend, two games have been postponed until a later date. The games in question are Vikings C v Vikings B and Saracens Sabres v Valkyrs B.
That leaves Harlequins A and Bacchas C flying the Division One flag this week, with the former carrying the favourites’ tag.
In PwC Mixed Division Two, Ramsey Ravens will be hoping to reignite their title charge after two losses in a row, following a five-game unbeaten run.
Bacchas Colts are looking to earn points in their battle for survival but will find this game a tough one to gain anything from.
Valkyrs C and Cammags go toe-to-toe in a battle to keep up with Ramsey Ravens. Both sides sit on eight points, two behind leaders Ravens. With Cammags going through a mid-season renaissance, this will be a close game.
Saracens Colts are three points behind Ravens and go into their game against Rookies as favourites.
However, the latter side will be desperate to move clear of Bacchas Colts in their battle for survival so Saracens need to be wary of Rookies as they have the experience to spring a surprise.
PwC Mixed Division Three sees an inter-club derby between Vikings Colts and Vikings D.
With Colts taking a surprise and heroic win last time the two sides met, they could well spring another shock against the current league leaders here.
Harlequins Colts take on a dangerous Valkyrs D side that could dent their title hopes, but based on form Colts should come away with both points.
Elsewhere, Saracens Sharks take on Castletown Southerners and Harlequins B go up against Bacchas D.
