Max Ingham has scored back-to-back wins in the Centre motocross championship to set up an exciting finale in the last couple of rounds.
One week after winning round three of the series at Ballagarraghyn, he scored another full-house of three wins at West Kimmeragh in round four of the series on Sunday.
In beautiful weather, on a track that has rarely looked better, he again produced a faultless ride on his 450 Yamaha to finish head and shoulders above the rest in the Ramsey MCC event.
Christopher Moore currently sits second overall in the standings, but out in front, incredibly, is defending champion Ryan Cringle who is simply refusing to give up his title without a fight.
Three months after seriously hurting himself on a mountain bike, and at one point fearing he may never ride a motorbike in anger again, Cringle has continued to fight the pain of an injured wrist to pick up vital points.
Moore had a poor second round after a couple of DNFs, while Ingham was off-island when round one took place pre-lockdown.
It means that the latter two must score good points in the final two rounds while Cringle has had four reasonable scores and could yet score better if his wrist holds out.
Jamie Cringle finished runner-up on Sunday with a fourth and two seconds, while Craig Norrey and teenager Ryan Quirk were consistent behind Moore in fourth and fifth.
The B races were all won by 15-year-old Luke Saunders in his first full outing on a 125.
He was kept honest by 14-year-old Jack Keenan, who has been given dispensation this season to ride in with the B Group on his Yamaha 125.
Grant Skeoch was consistently strong in third, as were the McCanney twins, Jacob and Niall, in fourth and fifth.
Beau Brown showed real style on his way to a full-house in the Big-wheel 85s, with Liam Smith and Ethan Blackley closely matched for the runner-up position.
The Small-wheel 85cc races were shared between Callum Christian, Travis Meechan and Josh Blackley, but it was Christian who edged it with runner-up spots in the remaining two.
The 65s and Autos raced on a newly-built separate track, where Jacob Wilson won all three ’geared’ races from Finley Knight (first time on a 65) and Marley Meechan, who finished second overall.
Stanley Dentith scored two wins and a second behind Leo Gray in the entertaining automatic class.
