Manx sport and its organising bodies are suspending their activities as measures are implemented to limit the spread of Coronavirus.

A number of leagues and competitions have been suspended or put on hold with immediate effect.

MOTORSPORT

* TT 2020 has been cancelled and won’t be rescheduled later in the year.

* July's Southern 100 has been cancelled.* Pre-TT meeting and Post-TT meeting on the same course has been cancelled.* Manx Motor Racing Club's three-day Manx Classic which was scheduled for the end of next month is off.* May's Manx National Rally has been called off. Mark Quayle, clerk of the course said: 'Following on from the announcements made by the Isle of Man Government yesterday, Manx Auto Sport regrets to announce that the 2020 Manx Rally is to be postponed. 'This has not been an easy decision for the organisers who have been working tirelessly to offer one of the best events in our history.'We had already attracted a bumper entry and had devised a superb route, with two days of classic motorsport on the island on offer. But, of course, the health and well being of everyone on the island and associated with the rally is paramount and we respect the decision of the Government.'We would like to stress that the event is currently postponed, to enable the club and the organising committee to consult with other appropriate bodies and consider all options available to them. A tremendous amount of hard work and effort has been put in by the organising committee over the last six months in respect to delivering a high quality event. You can be assured that the team will be back stronger than ever. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to the Manx Rally in the future. The club will issue a further update in due course and will be in contact with competitors regarding refunds.'

HOCKEY

* Manx Hockey Association has suspended all activities until further notice.

RUGBY

* Manx RFU has called off all its games until April 14 after the English RFU, which provides the playing insurance, suspended all activity.

NETBALL

* Manx Netball Association has suspended all activities until further notice.

SPORTS AWARDS

* Isle of Man Sport awards on April 2 has been cancelled due to disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The awards committee are considering options on the presentation of awards and will provide further information in the coming weeks.

ATHLETICS

* Easter Festival of Running has been cancelled.

* Manx Mountain Marathon has been called off.

* Slooby Dhoo fell race scheduled for Saturday is off.Isle of Man Athletics Association has released the following statement: 'Following advice from England Athletics it is with sadness that IOM Athletics is suspending all athletics events with immediate effect until at least the end of April.'As a result, IoM Athletics advises that all face-to-face activity such as club training sessions, events, competitions, club committee and face-to-face meetings, athlete camps, running groups and social events should be suspended until at least the end of April.'The decision has been taken in the interests of athletes, runner, officials, coaches, volunteers, supporters and the wider athletics and running communities. This decision is also in alignment with actions taken by athletic federations in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland and is similar to action taken by other sports.'IoM Athletics will continue to review and monitor relevant advice and will provide further information in the coming weeks.'

* Cross-country league presentations, which were due to take place on Saturday, are postponed.* Firefighters Memorial Walk, which was due to take place next month has been cancelled.

CROWN GREEN BOWLS

*June Bowls Festival has been cancelled.* All IoMCCGBA leagues and competitions off until at least the end of April.

BASKETBALL

* Junior and senior leagues suspended for two weeks.

TABLE TENNIS

* Primary schools International tournament scheduled for next month at the NSC has been cancelled.*All league matches scheduled for this week at the NSC will go ahead as planned. The play-offs, due to be played next week, will be brought forward to this Friday.

BOXING

* Manx ABC has closed with immediate effect as has New Horizon Boxing Club.

FOOTBALL

* All football suspended. This includes all senior and junior league and cup fixtures, friendly matches and training. The Isle of Man FA Centre of Excellence and Walking Football sessions are also all suspended.

CYCLING

* TLI races, including this weekend’s Roy Killey *Memorial road race, suspended for two months.

MANX YOUTH GAMES

* All Youth Games sessions are now postponed.

CRICKET

* The executive committee of the Isle of Man Cricket Association has decided, that all cricket activities on the Isle of Man will be suspended with immediate effect from today (Saturday, March 21) for a period of 30 days. This suspension extends to all National Squad training, pre-season Senior Player nets and any associated cricket activity organised by the Isle of Man Cricket Association. The situation will be reviewed after 30 days (Monday, April 20), when hopefully the advice from the Isle of Man government will allow normal activity to resume.

SNOOKER

*Following a committee meeting it was unanimously agreed to suspend the IoMBSA Mac's Snooker League matches and individual competitions for at least four weeks.

SPECIAL OLYMPICS

*Special Olympics Isle of Man has decided to suspend all activities (keep fit, boccee, bowling, football, swimming, badminton, cycling and athletics) until after Easter.

BADMINTON

*IoMBA executive has suspended all badminton (leagues, competitions, coaching etc) with immediate effect. Therefore the Handicap Tournament which was to be held on Sunday, March 22 and Sunday, March 29 is cancelled.

TRIATHLON

* Manx Tri Club has taken the decision to suspend both its Junior Triathlon on April 25 and its Triathlon Weekend on May 9-10.

SQUASH

*All league fixtures have been suspended until further notice.

KARTING

* IoMKRA has now suspended all activity until further notice.

RIFLE SHOOTING

* Isle of Man Rifle Association has postponed the final round of Winter League matches (due to be shot March 23) along with any previously postponed matches that are still be to rescheduled.

GOLF

* The Isle of Man Golf Union has decided to cancel all of its scheduled competitions and island squad meetings until June 7. This includes the Scratch League, the LMS Partners Limited Spring Meeting and the first two rounds of Dandara 72-Hole Stroke Play Championship. Should the Covid-19 not reach the Island and the advice from Isle of Man Government relaxes its position on social distancing before June then the board may reconsider its position.Club competitions are continuing, with certain restrictions, as planned for the moment.

ARCHERY

* Isle of Man Archery Club has had to stop all activity for the duration of the Covid 19 scare. It had hoped to continue with the outdoor season but governing body, Archery GB, has pulled the plug across the UK and has advised that the insurance underwriters will not cover any activity during the current crisis.

TENNIS

* The IoMLTA executive is considering whether to suspend the leagues (on the LTA’s strong recommendation), which were due to commence on April 19. It will almost certainly be the case that it is suspended.The Island Junior County training programme, which was also due to re-commence in April, will also be suspended.

GYMNASTICS

* Manx Gymnastics Centre of Excellence has closed with immediate effect until further notice.
