Aimee Cringle represented CrossFit Isle of Man at the Wodapalooza four-day CrossFit event hosted in Miami last weekend.

The 22-year-old was invited to compete in the elite category at the competition in Florida, having landed a major title at the CrossFit European Championships in Essex last September.

Wodapalooza is described as the world’s premier functional fitness festival which sees hundreds of athletes descend on Miami’s Bayfront Park to compete in various events.

The international competition included some of the best male and female CrossFit athletes in the world and offered a top prize of $100,000 for the overall winners.

Aimee travelled to the event with the support of her coach Dan Bonett from Braddan-based CrossFit IoM.

The contest was composed of eight separate events which tested athletes through a mix of aerobic exercise, calisthenics (bodyweight exercises) and weightlifting.

Aimee’s highest individual finish was 10th on the final day of the competition backed by three separate 11th-placed finishes.

Combined with her results from the other four events, she finished the weekend 17th overall out of the 40 elite women present.

The event served as a great opportunity for Aimee to compete in the United States for the first time with some of the top athletes, while representing the Isle of Man in the ever-growing and continually challenging multi-disciplinary sport of CrossFit.
