The No Rest for the Wicked running series continued yesterday evening, Wednesday, with the Killer Mile at Sky Hill, Lezayre.

The week-long contest concludes with a six-mile road race this evening (Thursday) and a seven-mile off-road trail race on Friday evening, both in the west of the island.

The Foxdale Six-mile road race starts with a two-mile descent to the Hope, near St John’s followed by a stiff climb of Ballavargher and a further loop on small country lanes (Lhoobs) to the Eairy Dam, before returning to the finish next to Foxdale School.

This event is organised by Manx Harriers.

A packed week of action concludes on Friday with the Heritage Trail Run of approximately seven miles, mostly on the former railway line.

It starts from the rear of the kipper houses on Peel harbourside and heads towards St John’s before switching to the northern line through Poortown to German.

A short half-mile stretch on road is followed by a final scenic coastal path stretch to the finish behind the bowling green, overlooking Peel promenade. This event is promoted by Western AC.

Both races begin at 7pm, enter on the night (for those not contesting the overall series) from 6.15. This will be followed by a presentation for the series in Peel later that evening.
