Castletown maintained their perfect start to the Ardern and Druggan Division Two campaign with a 5-1 victory away to Pulrose United on Saturday, while Michael United produced the result of the day with a nine-goal haul against Douglas and District.

Town have now won all four of their matches and sit top of the table with maximum points, with their latest success coming at the expense of Pully at Springfield Road.

Ross Crawford was the star of the show, scoring all five of Castletown’s goals in an emphatic victory. Pulrose were able to find the net once, although their goalscorer was not available at the time of going to press.

The result leaves Castletown four points clear at the summit, with a goal difference of plus 14 after four games.

Malew remain their closest challengers following a 2-2 draw away to Marown.

Alex Marley scored both of Marown’s goals, while Paul Whitley and Paddy Cooper replied for Malew in an entertaining contest.

The point keeps Malew unbeaten after four matches and leaves them second on eight points, two ahead of Michael United.

The latter side moved into third place after recording an emphatic 9-1 home victory over Douglas and District.

Nathan Faragher was in outstanding form, scoring eight times in a remarkable individual display, with Fletcher Kneen also finding the net for the Aces.

Joel Kennaugh scored Douglas and District’s consolation goal, but Michael were otherwise in complete control as they secured their second victory of the campaign.

The result leaves Michael on seven points from three games, with a goal difference of plus 11, and they remain unbeaten.

At DHSOB, the home side edged out St George’s 2-1 to move into sixth place.

Danny Corrin scored both goals for Old Boys who secured their first home victory of the campaign.

St George’s managed a reply, although their goalscorer was not available, but DHSOB held on to claim all three points.

The result moves the Blackberry Lane side onto four points from three games, while Geordies remain on three points after four fixtures.

Foxdale also strengthened their position in the upper half of the table with a 4-0 home victory over Douglas Royal.

Matthew Redmond scored twice for the hosts, with Kevin Pulman and William Taylor also on target as Foxdale recorded a comfortable victory.

The three points move Foxdale into fifth place on six points, level with Gymns, although Foxdale have played one fewer match.

Douglas Royal remain without a win after four games, having collected two points from their two draws, and occupy 10th place.

At the top of the division, Castletown have established a four-point advantage after four successive victories, while Malew, Michael United and Gymns make up the chasing pack.

Foxdale are also well placed with games in hand, while DHSOB and Marown have four points apiece.

Pulrose and St George’s are both on three points, with Douglas Royal on two, Douglas and District on one and Ayre United still searching for their first point of the season.
