Onchan recorded their first victory over Peel for more than 60 years by stunning the reigning Canada Life Premier League champions on Saturday afternoon.

Not since February 12, 1966 had the Os recorded a competitive first team victory over the westerners when beating them 1-0 at the Nivison Stadium in the old Division One.

But James O'Kelly's charges ended that record with an impressive 2-1 victory over the previously unbeaten Sunset City side at the weekend.

Onchan grabbed the lead just before half-time when Aaron Christian surged down the left wing and delivered a low cross which was parried by the keeper only as far as Ethan Leivers who fired home to make it 1-0.

Peel managed to grab a leveller around the hour mark when Scott Horne found the back of the net, but Onchan retook the lead 15 minutes later when Andy Asbridge sent a looping header beyond the reach of Owen Dawson to seal a memorable three points for the Os.

That defeat for Peel allowed Corinthians to go three clear at the top of the table after the Whites recorded an emphatic 6-1 victory over Laxey at Glen Road.

Sean Doyle and Adam McCullough both helped themselves to braces, while Connor Clark and Dan Simpson completed the scoring for the Whites who maintained their 100 percent winning start to the new campaign.

Ed Kangah netted the consolation for Laxey who are still searching for their first victory.

Elsewhere in the top flight, there were also big wins for St Mary's, Braddan and Ramsey.

The Saints were 6-0 winners over RYCOB, with Mark Wolfenden amongst the goals but the other scorers weren't available at the time of going to press.

Braces from Eric Hill and Daniel Kinrade helped Braddan record an impressive 5-1 victory at St John's, with their other goal coming via Ryan Edwards.

Goals from Austin Hart, Calum Hudgeon, Toby Liddle and Ben Ramaj sealed a 4-1 win for Ramsey at home to Colby.
