Defending champions Corinthians got their campaign off to a blistering start in the Nedbank Women’s Football League on Sunday.
The Whites were in superb form as they thrashed Colby 8-0 at the Station Fields.
Hattie Castle led the way with a hat-trick and she was joined on the scoresheet by Melissa Bell who bagged a brace.
There were also single strikes from Sam Crowe, Alice Ashe and Casey Halsall.
FA Cup runners-up Peel edged past Douglas Royal by the odd goal in five in a dramatic clash at the Station Fields.
Eleanor Gawne grabbed a brace for the westerners but that was cancelled out by a Bekki Cole strike and an own goal as the match looked set to finish in a draw.
However, Emily Jones popped up with a 90th minute winner to seal all three points for the hosts.
Laxey also got their season off to a flying start as they thumped DHSOB by eight goals without reply, a result which leaves them level at the top of the table with Corinthians.
