Corinthians closed the gap on the top four in the Canada Life Premier League with a resounding victory over Douglas Athletic on Saturday afternoon.
In the only top flight game to go ahead, the Whites were in ruthless form as they recorded a 9-1 win at a blustery Ballafletcher.
Luke Murray got the hosts off to a perfect start by opening the scoring inside the first two minutes, before adding another soon after to leave his side 2-0 up at half-time, with both goalkeepers called into action numerous times as DAFC were unable to take their chances.
In the second half, with the wind on their backs the Whites ran riot despite a spirited performance from the Pinks.
Tom Smith headed home their third, before a quickfire double from Conor Gorman - via a penalty - and Stephen Whitley made it 5-0 near the hour mark.
There was a brief respite for Athletic when Lee Ford coolly chipped over former team-mate Matty Quirk in the Corinthians goal to grab a deserved goal for the visitors.
But normal service was soon resumed as late goals from Danny Gerrard, Whitley, Calum Campbell and Danny Oram sealed an emphatic 9-1 win for the hosts.
Colby moved to the top of JCK Division Two on goal difference thanks to an impressive 7-1 hammering of Onchan at the Station Fields.
Luke Roberts and Carl Hickey led the way for the Moonlighters with hat-tricks apiece and were joined on the scoresheet by Jordan Edge.
That result, coupled with Union Mills’ 7-3 win over Governor’s Athletic, means Colby go top by a single strike on goal difference. Netting for the Millers were Luke Booth with a hat-trick of his own, plus a brace from Richard Cannell, Jack Murray and an own goal.
In the only other Division Two game to go ahead, Braddan moved into the top four thanks to a narrow 1-0 victory at RYCOB in the north of the island, Jake Wilson grabbing the only goal of the game for the Swans.
Full round-up in next week’s Isle of Man Examiner, on sale one day earlier on Monday morning.
