A first half Lisa Costain penalty was enough to secure a 1-0 victory for Corinthians over Peel at Ballafletcher on Sunday afternoon.

In doing so, the Whites register a record eighth Canada Life Women’s League title.

The Ballafletcher outfit have now reached the milestone by becoming the most successful women’s team with 21 honours, including eight league titles, eight Floodlit Cups and five FA Cups, therefore surpassing Douglas Royal with 20 (six leagues, seven Floodlit Cups, and seven FA Cups).

Adding to their Floodlit Cup success, Corinthians are on course to complete yet another treble this season.

Elsewhere on Sunday, in the southern derby Castletown beat Colby 3-0. Leading 1-0 at the break, Amy Beggs-Cairney, Ali Gill and Elizabeth Cain found the nets for the Reds.
