Sean Doyle currently leads the way in the race for this season’s Canada Life Premier League golden boot award.

The Corinthians striker has enjoyed a prolific start to the 2o18-19 season, finding the back of the net no fewer than 13 times during his side’s opening eight games of the campaign.

The Whites frontman’s cause was no doubt helped by his hat-trick against Laxey last time out, as well as braces against the likes of St John’s, DHSOB and Douglas Royal.

His lead at the top of the golden boot standings is a narrow though, as Furo Davies is breathing down his neck with 12 goals to his name.

The powerful St George’s striker has led the line superbly for the champions in the early weeks of the season, defying many predictions that the Glencrutchery Road side would struggle to sustain a title challenge this year.

His highlight of the season so far arrived last month at Glen Road when the former Rushen United man helped himself to a whopping five goals against Laxey.

Next are three players who have all netted eight goals during the opening two months of the season, namely Frank Jones, Matty Kent-Lloyd and Stephen Whitley.

Jones has hit the ground running since rejoining St Mary’s, captaining the Saints to six wins and a draw in their first eight games to go top of the fledgling standings.

Kent-Lloyd enjoyed a flying start to the campaign for Old Boys as he grabbed four goals against Douglas Royal and has helped the Blackberry Lane side remain on course to qualify for this season’s Railway Cup.

Likewise, Whitley has been one of Corinthians’ star players in the opening few weeks of 2018-19, most notably scoring twice away at rivals Peel plus strikes against fellow title hopefuls St George’s and St Mary’s.

Like in the Premier League, 13 is the lucky number for Marc Priestnal who currently leads the way in the race for the Silver Boot honours in JCK Division Two.

The striker has been in ruthless form in front of goal since joining Pulrose United midway through last season, and he’s carried that form into the new campaign, most notably bagging hat-tricks against Governor’s Athletic and Douglas and District in recent weeks.

His nearest challenge is Onchan’s Conor Dempsey who has plundered 11 goals.
