Isle of Man FA’s men’s team bounced back from the disappointment of Thursday evening’s semi-final defeat by beating Shetland 5-0 to claim Inter-Island Games bronze.

Peel striker Rhys Oates was the star of the show in Friday afternoon’s third/fourth place play-off netting a hat-trick.

Corinthians’ Dan Simpson and an own goal made up the rest of the island team’s tally as they brought their five-day long campaign to an end.

Brian Cowin’s women’s squad are guaranteed at least a silver after making it the final of their competition against the hosts. That game kicked off at 3.30pm, with the Manx leading 2-0 at half-time thanks to goals from Sarah Wignall and Eleanor Gawne.

The men’s final between Guernsey and Ynys Mon takes place this evening.
