Peel continued their imperious start to the 2026-27 football season with a comprehensive victory over Laxey at Douglas Road on Saturday.

After winning their opening two games 2-0 and 8-0, the reigning Canada Life Premier League champions maintained their flawless run with a 6-0 victory over the Miners.

Scott Horne gave the westerners an early lead before Ben Sturgeon doubled the advantage just shy of the half-hour mark, but only after Owen Dawson had produced an excellent penalty save for the hosts.

Jason Charmer then got in on the act to make it 3-0 at half-time.

It was more of the same in the second half, with Peel increasing their lead via an own goal before Charmer added his second and the scoring was completed by Sturgeon 19 minutes from time.

Corinthians also maintained their 100 percent start with a hard-fought 1-0 win over St Mary's at Ballafletcher (see full report on page 47).

Elsewhere in the top flight, two derbies also took place at opposite ends of the island.

In the northern, Ramsey edged past neighbours RYCOB 3-2 in a tight contest at Scoill ree Gorree thanks to a brace from Graham Kennish plus a strike from Toby Liddle.

Layton Ballard and William Lythgoe grabbed the consolation strikes for the hosts.

In the south, Colby and Rushen United shared six goals at the Station Fields. Carl Hickey (2) and Michael Thompson netted for the Moonlighters, while Joe Kelly, Oliver Edge and Lochlann Denham scored for the Spaniards.

The other game in the top flight saw Onchan record a 3-1 win at Braddan, although no details of any of the scorers was available at the time of going to press.
