St George’s returned to form with a high-scoring victory over St Mary’s in the Canada Life Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

However, Geordies’ win was marred by a serious leg injury suffered by winger Joey Morling late on which eventually saw the match being abandoned after 83 minutes.

It was a rollercoaster match at the Bowl, with St George’s edging ahead early on through Furo Davies before the sides traded five further goals to end the half all square at 3-3.

The score remained the same until midway through the second half when St Mary’s midfielder Craig Murphy was given a second yellow card and the hosts were reduced to 10 men.

It wasn’t long before Geordies capitalised, Davies completing his hat-trick before Frank Jones and Ciaran McNulty added further gloss to the scoreline prior to Morling’s unfortunate injury.

Elsewhere leaders Corinthians continued their title charge with a resounding 7-2 victory over Ballafletcher neighbours Douglas Royal.

Sean Doyle led the way for Corinthians with a hat-trick and was joined on the scoresheet by Stephen Whitley, Dan Simpson and Danny Gerrard.

Peel kept up the pressure on the Whites with an emphatic 6-0 win away at Laxey. Matty Skillicorn and Lee Gale both helped themselves to braces while Shaun Kelly and an own goal completed the scoring.

Having stunned St George’s 4-0 two weeks ago, Rushen United were brought back down to Earth with a bump as they lost by the odd goal in three to St John’s, Rhys Oates and Harry Rothwell getting the goals for the Saints.

In the basement battle in Ramsey between and Colby ended in a 2-2 draw in the north of the island, Nick White’s brace securing a point for the Ballacloan outfit.

DHSOB remain right in the mix for a place in the top four thanks to a hard-fought win away at Douglas Athletic, winning 2-1 to go level on points with fourth-placed Rushen.

It’s as you were at the top of JCK Division Two, with Pulrose United and Castletown both continuing their winning ways.

Leaders Pully were made to work hard but the Springfield Road side eventually triumphed 4-2 over Union Mills away at Garey Mooar, while Town cruised to a 6-1 win away at Governor’s Athletic.

Foxdale’s title hopes suffered a setback though, as they came undone at Malew. Dan McLaughlin scored two goals while Dale Walker and Kieran Krypner put the Billy Goat Park side to the sword in a 4-1 victory for the southerners.

There was a dramatic game at Tromode where Gymns stunned Ayre United to claim their second win of the season.

The Tangerines led 3-1 late on with Gymns down to 10 men after goalscorer Cal Peat had been sent off, but Tony Sewell’s men stunned the northerners as goals from Ross Crawford, Dan Kewley and Ste Slack secured a last-gasp 4-3 win for Gymns.

With RYCOB’s game being postponed, Onchan moved up to third in the table thanks to a 3-1 win away at Douglas and District.

Chris Asbridge once again led the way for the Os with a brace to join Graham Lyons on the scoresheet, while Daniel Stewart-Clague scored D&D’s consolation.
