The Manx football season has been abandoned and the results of all games played so far in both senior and junior competitions declared null and void.

The Isle of Man FA released a statement revealing the decision on Friday lunchtime 24 hours after the English FA abandoned its season for clubs below Conference level.

The IoMFA statement said: ’The Isle of Man Football Association, as instructed by the English Football Association, can confirm the 2019-20 season is declared null and void and all results expunged, in both the senior and junior competitions.

’Clearly this will be a disappointment to all involved, but the health and safety of everyone is paramount in these unprecedented times.

’The IoMFA will continue to work with all clubs, sponsors, officials and volunteers to ensure Manx football returns in a healthy position for the 2020-21 season.’
