The race for this season’s Golden Boot is hotting up, with Steven Priestnal and Ciaran McNulty going toe-to-toe for the honours.

St Mary’s hitman Priestnal has leapt to the top of the 2017-18 standings with 23 Premier League goals, one more than his St George’s counterpart McNulty, albeit the latter has several games in hand.

In-form Peel winger Lee Gale is next with 17 goals, just ahead of island team-mate and Geordies striker Furo Davies, Rushen’s Josh Kelly and St John’s livewire Rhys Oates.

It’s a similar story in Division Two in the race for Silver Boot honours as Castletown’s Alex Crawley leads the way with 24 goals, one ahead of Union Mills hotshot Luke Booth who in turn is one ahead of Pulrose United’s Stephen Glover.

The latter is then four goals ahead of Foxdale’s Jason Chatwood and Marown’s Ashley Higginbotham, with Douglas and District’s Daniel Stewart-Clague next on 17 goals.
