The top two sides in the Canada Life Premier League were both in ruthless form on Saturday afternoon.

Leaders Corinthians cruised to an excellent 8-1 victory over the previously in-form Ayre United in Andreas, with Sean Doyle leading the way with a four-goal haul.

Joining him on the scoresheet was Dan Simpson with a brace plus Ste Whitley and Kane Ridings, while Deacon Lombard-Chibnall netted the consolation for the Tangerines.

Likewise, second-placed Rushen United helped themselves to eight goals as they thrashed Douglas Athletic at Springfield Road.

Furo Davies, Aaron Hawley and Mike Williams each scored a brace apiece while there were further goals from Jack Camarda and Jack Snidal.

St George’s are up to fourth in the table thanks to a hard-fought 4-3 victory over Ramsey at Ballacloan Stadium.

Grabbing the goals for the Saints were Ciaran McNulty with two plus Nathan Cardy and Cian Geoghagen.

Marown’s brilliant run of form continued as they got the better of a rejuvenated DHSOB at Blackberry Lane.

Matty McQuarrie slotted home an early penalty for Dave Brew’s visitors but Old Boys levelled matters through Craig Stewart just before half-time.

However, another McQuarrie penalty restored Marown’s lead late in the second half before Thomas Hughes wrapped up a 3-1 victory in injury-time to make it five wins in a row for the Crosby outfit.

In JCK Division Two, Union Mills were in rampant form as they ran riot against bottom side Pulrose United at Garey Mooar.

Jordan Crawley, Ryan Kelly and Sean Trayler all scored hat-tricks for the Millers and were joined on the scoresheet by Luke Booth (2), Kyle Uren (2), Sam Caine (2) and Dylan Campbell.

Second-placed RYCOB returned to winning ways thanks to a 4-1 victory at home to Gymns. Jason Craine, Ste Grose, Graham Kennish and Tony Corlett netted for Youthie, while Jake Gartland scored for the visitors.

Onchan remain one point behind the northerners after securing a 4-2 success against Castletown courtesy of a Joe Rees double plus strikes from Barry English and Ethan Leivers.

Foxdale and Braddan played out a 2-2 draw in a match switched to Peel’s Douglas Road ground.

Matty Ogden and Callum Taylor put the Swans two goals ahead in the west but quickfire strikes from Ricky Newsham and Liam Cannan sealed a point for Foxdale.
