The completion of the Robbie Corkish Masters snooker competition, open to all players aged 40 and over, brought another marathon snooker season to a close last week.
The semi-finals saw a repeat of the island championship final from only a few weeks ago, John Kennish again beating Peter Kirkham but only narrowly 3-2 in a thriller.
The other last-four clash saw Tom Miller overcome Paul Smyth by the same scoreline.
Fittingly, the best-of-seven final went down to the last pink as Miller prevailed 4-3 over Kennish.
Congratulations go to Miller who finishes the season on a high, especially by defeating Kennish who has undoubtedly been the player of the year.
The Shender table at the Cue Zone was used on this occasion and thanks must go to the venue for hosting all the matches they have this season.
The final was refereed once again by Dave Kelly who has officiated over all four of the major finals this year: the Champion of Champions, Premier League, Island Championship and finally the Robbie Corkish Masters.
Isle of Man Billiards and Snooker wish to congratulate all the winners and everyone who has played their part throughout the season.
In a few week’s time, notice of the annual general meeting will be posted.
But for now, let’s enjoy a few weeks off!
