Manxman Nathan Harrison will line up with Jamie Coward and Brian McCormack as Greenall Racing field a three-rider line-up in the Formula One Classic TT.

Both Coward and McCormack will line up on the Kawasaki ZXR750, the most popular bike on the entry list, with Harrison on board the slightly later Kawasaki ZX7R model for the three-lap race that takes place on Wednesday, August 26. The latter will lead the field away at number one aboard the ZX7R.

Harrison finished second to then team-mate Rob Hodson in 2022, setting the fastest lap of the race at 126.326mph, before spending two years on his own Honda RC45.

Last year saw him reunite with Angus Greenall’s Lancashire-based team and, although the race was ultimately cancelled, a lap in qualifying of 127.204mph showed his race-winning potential.

The same applies to Coward, who joined Greenall Racing for the first time 12 months ago.

He was only marginally slower than Harrison during qualifying last year with a lap of 126.245mph and, fresh from a strong TT campaign in June and encouraging performances of late in the Pirelli National Superstock Championship, he too has another opportunity to add to his established Classic TT record.

Completing the line-up is the Republic of Ireland’s McCormack, the Waterford rider entering his fifth successive Classic TT event on the Greenall Racing Kawasaki’s.

His only result in the previous years was in 2023 when he just missed out on the podium in fourth, the race also seeing him record his fastest lap to date in the class at 124.649mph.

Greenall Racing have been contesting the Classic TT since 2014, when James Hillier finished second to Bruce Anstey in the four-lap Classic Superbike race before adding a fourth place the following year.

Horst Saiger gave the team further podiums in 2017 and 2018 when he placed third and second respectively, whilst Derek Sheils continued their strong run of form in 2019 when he also finished second.

The breakthrough victory finally arrived in 2022 when Rob Hodson defeated Harrison by 15.3 seconds to give Greenall Racing its first Formula One Classic TT success.

Hodson returned to finish third in 2023, while the 2024 meeting saw two Greenall Racing machines back on the podium with Hodson and Sheils taking second and third places respectively.

SCHEDULE

After single-lap qualifying sessions on Monday and Tuesday evening, Classic TT qualifying begins in earnest on Wednesday evening (August 19).

Further Classic TT qualifying takes place on Thursday and Friday alongside Manx Grand Prix machinery, with the latter sessions taking place in the daytime with roads closing at 9.30am.

Classic TT qualifying continues on Saturday, August 22 when it is interspersed with the opening Manx Grand Prix races of the festival.

The first Classic race - the three-lap Historic Junior - rounds out the action on Monday, August 24. It is due to follow the Junior and Senior Manx Grand Prix at 3pm.

The Formula One Classic kicks off the programme, which also includes the combined lightweight and ultra-lightweight race and Junior 600 race, on Wednesday, August 26.

The Historic Senior and Senior Classic races bring the event to a close on Friday, August 28.
