The opening qualifying session of this year’s Manx Grand Prix takes place on Sunday (August 16) afternoon.

All roads close on the Mountain Course at 12.45pm with a newcomers’ speed-controlled lap kicking things off at 1.30pm.

A full afternoon of Manx Grand Prix qualifying follows across all classes, with roads due to re-open no later than 6pm.

The first evening qualifying session of the week follows on Monday with roads closing at 6pm.

Again the Manx Grand Prix machinery will take centre stage with a short one-lap session for competitors in the Classic TT ending the evening’s proceedings at 7.50pm.

All roads are due to re-open no later than 9pm.

A similar format follows on Tuesday evening before the Classic machines get a longer qualifying run on Wednesday evening.

Once roads close at 6pm, the Formula One and Junior 600 competitors in the Classic will head out alongside Senior and Supersport MGP machinery at 6.30pm.

This will be proceeded by the Lightweight, Ultra-Lightweight and Junior MGP and Sportbike MGP machines at 7.15pm.

The Historic Senior and Junior bikes will round out the session at 7.50pm before roads re-open no later than 9pm.

Thursday evening’s qualifying programme follows the same format before an afternoon qualifying session on Friday, August 21.

All roads close for this at 9.30am before re-opening no later than 4.30pm.

The Manx Grand Prix’s first two races take place on Saturday, August 22.

Interspersed with Classic TT qualifying sessions, the three-lap Sportbike Grand Prix taking place at 10.15am and the four-lap Supersport Manx Grand Prix at 2.15pm.

Racing continues on Monday, August 24 with the Junior and Senior Manx Grand Prix, plus the first Classic race - the Historic Junior - at 3pm.

The Classic TT’s remaining races are due to take place on Wednesday, August 26 and Friday, August 28. The latter date also includes a John McGuinness MBE parade lap.
