A posse of Manx riders are travelling to the market town of Rhayader in Powys for the Enduro GP of Wales this weekend.

Jed Etchells is the only one contesting the full GP class, while Jack Keenan is in the junior category. Five more are contesting the national support event.

The previous round was held at Saint-Agrève in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France three weeks ago.

Etchells was 23rd and 22nd in the GP class (eighth and seventh E3) on his 300cc Moto-Fit Sherco, while Keenan was best Brit both days in the junior category - 21st and 16th (11th and ninth J2).

One week later they were at Brechfa for the latest round of the ACU British Enduro Championship where Etchells repeated his double success from earlier in the month on home terrain here in the Isle of Man.

Factory Sherco rider Steve Holcombe, who concentrates on the Italian national championship as he currently resides in Italy, supported Etchells by finishing runner-up both days to keep the latter’s main rivals for the title at bay.

Etchells won by 1.68 seconds on day one and 4.9s on day two when the Sherco pair traded fastest test times.

Keenan rode his 450 Triumph four-stroke to 12th and ninth overall, best E2 class rider on the Sunday, having been third on Saturday.

Jack Collins rode his KTM to 23rd and 22nd places in the expert class.

Keenan’s brother Will, who lives in the UK, finished second and sixth in the over-35 class on his Gas Gas four-stroke.

Orry Millward rode well in Clubman to finish third on day one (second E2) and ninth on Sunday, when 17-year-old Stan Cubbon was a fine seventh on his MSR 200cc Beta. He was sixth on day one.

Collins and Cubbon will be joined by Craig Norrey (TM), Ashley Kelly (Triumph) and Jordan Corkill (KTM) in the national class this weekend in Wales.
