TREC Isle of Man held its latest affiliated competition at Ballafayle Farm in Maughold recently.
Set against the backdrop of some beautiful, northern Manx countryside, more than 20 competitors were put through the paces of obstacles (mixture of ridden and lead rein), control of pace and orienteering.
In the latter, the equestrians have time allotted in the map room to map read before setting off.
The event also saw some new faces take part in their first TREC competition.
Paying a visit to the Isle of Man was Peter and Paula Bean, the UK technical delegates from Whitehorse TREC UK, who were overseeing the running of the competition.
The weekend culminated in a prize presentation at the Creg-Ny-Baa on Sunday evening.
With around 20 people present, club chairwoman Gillian Newey gave a speech thanking everyone who competed and assisted over the weekend.
Jo Ralston then read out the results which saw the presentation of rosettes and prizes to the winners. An additional thanks also went out to the Kerruish family for the use of the land so the competition could go ahead.
Peter returned to compliment, saying that he has enjoyed his time in the island as they look to build upon their existing friendships.
There is a real buzz about TREC who has been very busy recently following on from the recent clinics, events, practice day and the Manx Horse Council Members TREC championship and the club is now seeing the rewards through increased participation in the sport.
