The sport of athletics lost two familiar faces recently with the deaths of Graham Davies and Stanley Cleator.

Graham was involved in athletics for a total of 50 years, from high school age onwards.

Stanley, winner of the first race in the current series of Parish Walks in 1960, passed away peacefully in a care home in Hampshire on Friday.

Tributes to Graham and Stanley appeared in this week’s Isle of Man Examiner, on sale now.

Cleator will also feature in the ’This Week In History’ column in next Tuesday’s edition of the Examiner.
