The rescheduled opening round of the Isle of Man Youth Trials Club Championship took place at South Barrule Quarry on Sunday, six days later than originally planned.

With lots of riders moving classes this season it was Stan Cubbon and Summer Peters who have taken on the challenge of the Youth Elite/A category for 2022.

Stan rode well to lose 56 marks over a challenging and slippery course, with Summer finishing runner-up.

Liam Barker showed he has adapted to his new 125 Beta very well, taking top spot in the Youth Expert/B class from Jack Christian in second place, clear of Ruby McCubbin in third.

Harry Beattie mastered the Youth Intermediate/C route with a low score of 18, Harrison Doyle pipping Oliver Sidebottom to second place by a single mark. Twin brothers Danny and Daryl Cain went head-to-head in the Intermediate Evo class, with Danny coming out on top.

The Cadets/D class turned out to be challenging for the small-wheeled machines, but Clodagh Higgins finished clear of the field with a loss of 26 marks. Ewan McCubbin was runner-up on 41, one mark clear of Isla Kennington in third.

The Rookie/E class saw Torrin Lennon finish ahead of James Arnold, with Alessandra Beaumont in third position.

The supporting adult classes saw Owen Chestnut finish on 12 marks in the expert class, with Mark Barker coming out on top of the clubman, and Orry Millward dropping a solitary dab to take sportsman.
