With four games left, the destination of the PwC Premier League hockey title could all but be decided this coming weekend.

Jamie Brown’s Ramsey Crookall Bacchanalians A have been imperious this season and sit five points clear at the top of the league.

Should the defending champions claim both points on offer against Partitionware Castletown A as expected, they will extend their lead to seven points with only three games remaining.

With second-placed Canaccord Genuity Vikings A meeting Crowe Morgan Valkyrs A also on Saturday, a defeat for either side is likely to end any faint interest in the league title.

A close game is in prospect between the two as Alex Birch’s All Blacks won when the two sides met earlier in the season and the westerners will be seeking vengeance.

There’s a key game at the other end of the division too, with Jonathan Gower-Jackson’s LJ Ramsey A hosting Matt Greenbank’s Bacchas B.

The latter lie only one point ahead of the Greens in the league and the two shared the spoils in their first meeting.

As Bacchas A have lived up to their favourites tag this campaign, there’s a similar story in PwC Women’s Premier League where Kim Carney’s Vikings remain the team to beat.

Four points ahead of their nearest rivals, Vikings should claim both points on offer against a Harlequins side still searching for their first win.

In all probability the Champagne will be put on ice for another week, as Lauren Brew’s second-placed Ramsey start as strong favourites against Castletown A, following their success across the water last weekend.

The final game in the division is too close to call as Imogen Manning’s Valkyrs host in-form Bacchas A. This has the feel of a best-of-three decider, with Manning’s Valkyrs taking victory in the league before Emma Leeming’s Bacchas gained revenge by knocking the Blues out of the cup by the same scoreline.

There are some interesting ties in PwC Men’s Division One, with the top three all being kept apart.

After last week’s victory over Harlequins, Vikings B lead the way on goal difference but they will need to overcome a tough Ramsey B side to maintain their league advantage.

Joint leaders Harlequins take on bottom side Valkyrs B in a game in which they should be confident of success, while Bacchas Colts and Saracens face off in another game in which there’s very little to separate the two sides.

In PwC Women’s Division One, runaway leaders and undefeated Bacchas B will not have everything their own way against Donna Harrison’s Valkyrs B.

Harrison’s Peel side endured a difficult start to the season, but have looked stronger and stronger as the campaign has continued.

Should Bacchas take the win and Beckie O’Brien’s Vikings B can get the better of Ramsey B, then the Whites will place one hand on the trophy.

With a number of sides looking to move to within a whisker of champions, the side that could actually clinch the win are Ian Perry’s Vikings Colts.

They take on Harlequins B and as currently six points clear with three games left, therefore they look certain to claim the PwC Men’s Division Two. The winner of Castletown B and Bacchas C will take pole position to claim the runners-up spot.

Finally to PwC Women’s Division Two where until last weekend it seemed as though Saracens were making serene progress towards promotion.

They sit three points ahead with three to play, but last week’s defeat against Harlequins gave the faintest glimpse of hope to the yellows.

The league leaders take on Bacchas C, while Quins will be aiming to maintan their pressure with victory over Castletown B.
