The Western 10 Road Race takes place on Sunday (October 1), incorporating the Julie Brew Memorial Walk.

Signing on will take place in Peel Market Place from 8am for a 9.15am start for the walk.

The runners and sub-90-minute walkers will begin one hour later at 10.15.

The entry fee is £5 for affiliated athletics club members, non-members £7; and the age limits are 16 on the day for the run, 18 for the walk.

The course takes in Patrick, St John’s, Ballacraine, Ballig Bridge, Switchback, Knocksharry and Peel Promenade.

l Northern AC’s Ramsey Bakery-sponsored Firemen’s Road Running Series gets under way next Thursday, October 5.

Signing on takes place in Ramsey Fire Station from 6pm for a 7pm start; a choice of one lap (1.7 miles) or three laps (5 miles).

All runners must wear hi-vis clothing.
