Isle of Man equestrian Harriet Williamson and her horse King D II won a British dressage championship title recently.

Competing in the Equissage Pulse Para Summer Championships at Hartpury in Gloucestershire, Williamson shone in the bronze division.

The pair led the way in the grade five introductory test, winning the class on 72.628% which was more than two percent clear of their nearest challengers, Lisa Nicholls and Glamour Van't Prinsenveld on 70.449.

It is the second time that the pair have won a national title, having previously done so in 2024.

Speaking afterwards, a delighted Williamson said: 'Winning a British National Championship with King is incredibly special and a moment I’m immensely proud of.

'We have put in countless hours of training and have always remained positive with an unwavering belief of what we could achieve together.

'This result is another important milestone in my career, made even more exciting that this is I feel it is just the beginning of our partnership and we are yet to take off the handbrake.'

The judges' comments described the pair as 'bold, fluent and harmonious with a lot to like,' as two out of the three awarded them scores in excess of 76%.

'My ambition is to continue competing and represent Great Britain internationally as well as further establish myself within the sport, both in the UK and overseas.

'I’m excited about what comes next for King and I and I’m incredibly grateful to our team at home, Sam and my trainer Jessica Wade who have been instrumental in our success.'

Having been selected to represent Great Britain at the start of the year and been selected for the British Dressage Para Academy, they continue to go from strength to strength.
