Emergency services were called out to deal with a chip pan fire in Peel.
The 999 call-out to a home on Crown Street came at just before 8.45pm last night (Tuesday).
A heat alarm sounding in the kitchen alerted the householder.
Fire crews arrived at the scene to find a chip pan on fire. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a fire blanket and hose reel to extinguish the flames.
They used a positive pressure ventilation fan to ventilate the property and a thermal imaging camera to check for hot spots.
Fire crews remained in attendance for 60 minutes.
