Police are investigating a violent assault in Douglas town centre at the weekend.

The incident took place in the area of Shoe Zone, Strand Street, on Saturday (May 11) at just after 10.30pm.

Two men are believed to have become verbally abusive towards each other and then physically violent, resulting in one of them being knocked unconscious and sustaining a deep cut to his eyebrow.

A number of members of the public are believed to have witnessed this assault.

Police are also investigating a fight betweemn two men outside Quid’s Inn and the Shake Lounge in Douglas at 8.15am on Sunday.
