John Edward Corran, aged 74, of Edmund Chadwick Close, Douglas, appeared in court again this week charged with historical sexual offences involving two girls aged between five and eight.

He is charged with rape and attempted rape which can only be heard at the Court of General Gaol Delivery. Pleas have not been entered to those charges.

Mr Corran entered ’no plea’ responses to seven counts of indecent assault on a child.

The offences are alleged to have been committed between 1982 and 1997.

High Bailiff Jayne Hughes declined jurisdiction for the offences to which Mr Corran entered ’no plea’ and all offences were committed to the Court of General Gaol Delivery where he will appear on a date to be set.

No bail application was made and he is remanded in custody.
